Young Artist Schol­ar­ship Competition

The Abi­lene Phil­har­monic is proud to present our bien­nial Young Artist Schol­ar­ship Com­pe­ti­tion.  This event was estab­lished by the Abi­lene Phil­har­monic in 2008 to help sup­port out­stand­ing young musi­cians in the Abi­lene area.  The com­pe­ti­tion is open to Wood­wind, Brass, Per­cus­sion, String, and Piano stu­dents between the ages of 12–18 that live in Texas School Regions 14 or 15.  Schol­ar­ship awards may be used to fur­ther the student’s musi­cal edu­ca­tion, includ­ing pri­vate music lessons, music camps, and uni­ver­sity tuition.

Schol­ar­ship Prizes

Con­grat­u­la­tions go to all the Par­tic­i­pants and Final­ists in this year’s Young Artist Schol­ar­ship Competition.

First Prize: Halle Puck­ett, piano

Sec­ond Prize: Lau­ren Mau­rer, piano

Third Prize: Cather­ine Miller, oboe

 

Gen­eral Information

Both Pre­lim­i­nar­ies and Finals were held at the Williams Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter, located on the cam­pus of Abi­lene Chris­t­ian University.

Spe­cial thanks goes to ACU for use of their facil­i­ties, and our panel of judges:  David Itkin, Pauline Bjorem, Leigh Anne Hunsaker, Jason Missal,  Peter Neu­bert, and Dham Pham.
