Young Artist Scholarship Competition

The Abilene Philharmonic is proud to present our biennial Young Artist Scholarship Competition.  This event was established by the Abilene Philharmonic in 2008 to help support outstanding young musicians in the Abilene area.  The competition is open to Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, String, and Piano students between the ages of 12-18 that live in Texas School Regions 14 or 15 and have not yet graduated high school.

Scholarship Prizes

Scholarship awards may be used to further the student’s musical education, including private music lessons, music camps, and university tuition.

First Prize: $1500.00

Second Prize: $1000.00

Third Prize: $750.00

General Information

Preliminaries will be held at the Woodward-Dellis Recital Hall at Hardin-Simmons University. Finals are held at the Williams Performing Arts Center Recital Hall, located on the campus of Abilene Christian University.
Preliminary Rounds will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014.
Final Rounds will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014.
